Reward for collecting feathers?

I got all the feathers and put them in the box, but is there any sort of reward?

I don't think there was honestly. Made no sense.

For only 10 feathers I didn't expect much, but I expected something

Yeah, I really liked how they worked the feather fetch quest into the narrative in ACII. It's pretty pointless in Brotherhood.

at least the mother talks in this one, instead of getting 100 feathers for a hug.

Feathers, flags, treasures - they're just time sinks to artificially make the game seem longer. Subtract the time required to find them all (even with the maps) and you get a game that is suddenly shorter than you thought.

Agreed with above, the game is full of pointless busy work to flesh out the rather puny main missions. If it weren't for all the additional challenges and collectables, it would practically only take a handful of hours to burn through.

Indeed, but it seems that the point of the series to go do all sorts of strange stuff in between the main missions. It works out fine for me at least.
