Good graphics and music shallow everything else.
Formerly Known as Nasfive0, and I lost the password to it, it had over 500 karma but oh well.
The average is 7-8. 5 is a ridculously low score but since IGN somehow matters people who only palyed the demo and found it bad(it was a pretty bland demo) will say IGN's review is more accurate than the 7-8 average this games been getting from other more relaible sources. IGN's reviewer probably hasn't played many games this gen apart from Halo.
The reviewer basically admits he never figured out the combat system and took points off for the deliberate lack of HUD. A 5 is a ridiculous score considering it's getting mostly 8s and 9s from most outlets.
GameTrailers has a great review here (8.6): http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-el-shaddai/719039
Destructoid gave it an 8: http://www.destructoid.com/review-el-shaddai-ascension-of-the-metatron-208585.phtml
And we already know about the 9s from Game Informer, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, Eurogamer, etc.
I am ambivalent about IGN (as with most professional reviewers) but frequently read their reviews for an added perspective and sometimes they offer solidly backed-up opinions. However, the gt review really makes the ign one end up sounding as an idiotic mess. Can't wait for this game to arrive to Europe.
I agree with them.
Homefront; better than CoD but not better than Battlefield
SILENT HILL: DOWNPOUR! ES5: SKYRIM! BATTLEFIELD 3!
Developers even said, lack of a HUD is to keep players immersed in the game. So how does that make it a failing point?
I am serious when I say... "Some people have no right to say they like videogames... They should only say "I like videogame""
If it's not some overproduced sequel or the now "madden" of FPS's... Its rubbish... Original IP's and gambles should be more looked into, instead of "safe" games.
But I remember my aunt forced me to taste it from my underwear because I didnt wipe well enough. DirtyScubbyMexican
GameTrailers review was much better written and much more fairly presented.
Colin Moriarty just seems like he's too stupid to comprehend the story and too stupid to figure out how to play without a HUD and blamed his fallacies on the game itself.
XBL: IcyBlaze Ninja, PSN: IcyBlazeNinja,
Wii FC: Too lazy too look up. Just ask.
I kept waiting on him to discuss the way that weapons are strong and weak against each other or the timing based combos and overcharge abilities but he never got to them because he deliberately ignored the options he had for combat because the game didn't FORCE him to use any creativity.
I'll take Gamespot's opinion over IGN's any day.
GameSpot's video review is outstanding IMO, really hits all the key points and gave it an 8/10:
