When can we usually start preordering games like these?

I've only ever did it for Ar tonelico and can't remember when it was available to order. I'm really wanting the special edition and I've already got the plat for the first two so I really want to get it asap. I also want to get Mugen Souls? But I have no idea when that's going to be released. :/

For Niche games like these it's best to go to gamestop/eb games, or order online directly from there site.

Gamestop doesn't have the LE edition available for preorder. At least not right now. I guess there's no guarantee that they will, but they did for Zero. Amazon has both editions available for preorder right now.

Mugen Souls May(or maybe June, can't remeber) 2012. Thats what Prinny Bomb Newsletter said. And they usually let you know when pre-ordering is open. I assume Askys will let pre-orders happen to when they are ready.

Does Aksys allow for pre-orders on the main site? Or do they have a different site?

I Pre-Ordered from Amazon($49.99), and got free shipping because it was over $25 dollars.

I've seen it on Amazon already. I'm just curious if Aksys will have its own pre-order stuff, like how NISA does.

I just emailed them, and they said they won't be handling pre orders.

They said:
"There isn't a pre-order bonus, just a standard edition and a Limited edition that comes with specific items/content.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

Aksys Games Support"

And:

"Unfortunately we won't have any pre-orders available from us directly.

You'll need to pre-order it from Amazon, GameStop, or any other retailer that carries it."

Hope this helps.

Immensely! Looks like that basically solidified my pre-order of the limited edition from Amazon... Unless Gamestop decides to announce something some time down the road (though, it would be a fairly late announcement if they did).

I only discovered last year just how important ordering Limited Editions from NIS America is. I know it does not apply to this game, but some people mentioned Mugen Souls so I wanted to make sure everyone else knows. NISA usually releases special EXCLUSIVE pre-order bonuses for their LE's off of their website; stuff you can not ever get from Amazon(unless it is resold for a profit by someone) or from Game Stop. I didn't know about this for many years of buying their games, and missed out on a lot of free bonuses.

On top of that, recently they have made their LE's(Meruru and mk2) 100% exclusive as well, so you can only buy the Standard Editions at retail chains. If you're a fan of LEs like I am, then you want to buy it from their website. So far they are the only niche Japanese game company that handles imports that I have noticed doing this, but I check other websites now as well to make sure so I don't miss out on any more bonuses.
