Is it just me, or does the 3DS lose power pretty fast in sleep mode?

I mean, my PSP has lasted longer than a week in sleep mode without having to be plugged in numerous times (and usually has more than half battery life to boot!) but after 2 days of having my 3DSXL in sleep mode without wireless on, my battery indicator was red after 2 days. When I took it off the charger it was fully charged too.

I'm just wondering what makes the 3DS(XL) lose battery so fast in sleep mode in comparison to other devices? Even my original 3DS lost battery in sleep mode pretty damn fast.

Compared to the DS, PSP, and Vita, yes, it does.

I think it's just you.
My 3DS seems to last pretty much forever in Sleep Mode, although I haven't tested this past 3 days.

I normally just drop it on the cradle every night.

The 3DS battery lasts up to 3 days in sleep mode.

The difference between the 3DS and PSP/DSL is that it's constantly sending wireless data (like mobile phones in a way), and thus drains faster.

The DSL lasted for like a week because it did, well nothing, when in sleep mode.

Don't forget that the accelerometer is turned on for counting steps.

Funny, when I turn wireless communications off my 3DS and 3DSXL don't seem to last much longer in sleep mode compared to when it is on.

My 3DS and 3DS XL are my first handhelds to ever run out of power in sleep mode. I've had a DS, DSlite, DSi, PSP and now a Vita that all last much longer in sleep mode! That's my one gripe with the 3DS, because it is not the only device I play and until I have Animal Crossing there is no reason for me to play it every day.

I've never left my 3DS in sleep mode.

What is the benefit of doing that ? Quick save in case you need to leave somewhere real quick ?

If I'm not playing I just turn it off.

Playcoins, streetpass, and spotpass. You don't do any of these?

If you leave your wireless on, your 3DS does a lot of activity in sleepmode.
I remember my first 3DS would barely last overnight in sleep mode because it would always be downloading into Nintendo Video.

So I just deleted that app, don't have it on my XL either, helps a lot.
