There's plenty of room on the top how come the screen is too small only 3.5. They should at least fill the entire top of the 3DS with the screen, move the speaker in the bottom like the PSP/IPhone. I guess Nintendo fails at engineering compared to Apple.

Making it bigger would mean adding more pixels, since they would have to have the same resolution (otherwise it wouldn't look very good...). More pixels = more to process, right? Maybe it would have been too expensive.

An increase in size of like half an inch would be very noticeable but not make it much more pixelated.

Well I remember theres no pixelation problem with DSiXL. People have said, the screens maybe big but they dont screw up the pixels, they say it looks just as good, if not better than the small DS Lite screen.

So yeah, Nintendo usually tests these things to see if pixelation screws with bigger screens before they release them.

It really is most likely so they can increase the size for their next versions of the 3DS.
