How to Convert non-3DS videos to play on the 3DS (also: YouTube supports 3D)

Seeing a lot of misinformation, which is natural with the new launch of an update.

1. Video Playback

Yes, like pictures, it's possible to convert a foreign file to play back on a 3DS.

Here are the instructions: "So, updated. Tried converting a video using a program called SUPER (I've used it for a while, looks somewhat intrusive, but so far it's pretty safe and works fine).

And guess what? It works!!, tested with a short video (the MK7 commercial I downloaded from YT).

I selected AVI as the output container, M-JPG as the codec and ADPCM IMA as the Audio codec. Used FFmpeg as the converter. Changed resolution to 480x240, FPS 20, Audio to 11025, 1 Channel and I left the rest as default. Dunno if it works with other settings, as I just tried it very quickly.

I renamed the video to HNI_0037.AVI (or something like that, depends on how many thing you have there). And the video is there and works fine with audio.

I'm pretty sure someone else will further test it."

2. Once uploaded to YouTube, can I see the video in 3DS?

Yes, you can play the 3D version of a 3DS video on Youtube. You just need to upload the video and make sure to press 3D in the lower-right corner. Evidence here: http://i.imgur.com/W72yE.png

No the TC meant you can watch your 3DS videos on youtube in 3D...on your computer. 3DS does not support youtube videos.

Perhaps I was confused by him posting "can I see the video in 3DS?" Instead of "can I see the video in 3D?"

Because freeing blank areas for no discernible reason would suck a good deal also.

^This. Sorry for being unclear.

However, I'm sure someone will figure out how to convert 3D YouTube videos to make them playable on the 3DS off the SD Card.

So is it impossible to play any kind of video at all through the browser?

I didn't get the "3D" option on my 3DS youtube video, so I assumed the two weren't compatible. Cool to hear they are, now I need to find out why it isn't showing up for me though. Does this video have a "3D" option for you, TC?
