I'd love it if it sold for the original DS's price(149.99), but 199.99 seems likely

Ugh, if in the USA it's gonna be $200, here it'll easily be $400, but well, that was to be expected anyway

Hasn't it already been revealed that'll it be out by Christmas.

Also, I'd say $180 to $200 sounds right.

I'll probably wait a year for a price drop, they may even introduce a second model by then; judging by Nintendo's close intervals for releasing and announcing 3 different models within a year.

Well if its any indication, Nintendo brought the GBASP out a year after GBA came out, DS Lite came out a year AFTER the DS came out.

Expect the 3DS lite to come out in 2011.

they do that at the end of the handhelds life,it'd likely be 2 years before another model. Since the GBA at least it is 2 year intervals

Regardless, I'm not rushing into buying a new model right away. I did that in 2004 with the original DS. It took about a year for the library to actually expand and introduce some good games. Unless there's one "to-die-for" title you simply must have, I don't see the point of paying the initial full price for a system with a premature and early gaming library. One of the DSi models would probably still be more convenient for playing regular DS games.

I think Nintendo will be offering the system with multiple games. They said that they wanted release f the 3DS to be the largest collection of 3rd party releases on launch for Nintendo. So I'd say probably around 30 games total on launch day with the prices on games hopefully ranging from 5-30. Nintendo will probably push an online market to directly download games to your DS so many games may only be availible through those and those will likely be the cheaper games.
