So is Nintendo finally abandoning the touch screen with the 3DS?

The bottom screen is a touch panel, but it's not the focus. Iwata talked about how "3D will not work well with touch, so only one screen is a touch screen, like the Nintendo DS."

The second screen is still touch-sensitive.

no. they said 3D and touch screen clashes, which is why the touch screen is remaining the same, and only the top screen will have 3D

Ahhh....ok, good to know. In that case, I will have to see more to consider a purchase. Although, Zelda OoT remake is pushing me in the direction of a purchase.

So why do you think the touch screen is so bad?

I mean, if it's making you have to consider a purchase for a handheld console that has OOT, MGS3, and Star Fox, it's gotta irk you something fierce

The touch screen obviously needs to be there for the backwards-compatibility. Nonetheless, while Nintendo loves to boast about how touching is good, I think the idea is pretty worn out.

In other words, more looking, less touching plz.

Touch screen is being used as the 2nd analog stick.
