Is there a chance the DS version will be able to use the slide pad? Or are we stuck with the lousy controls?

They will probably allow us to configure the controls to use the analog stick.

Too bad, that game was made a generation too early :/

Maybe the 3ds will work so that when you play original ds games, both the pad and the slide thing works

sorta how by pressing the L and R buttons on the GBA while playing GBC games changes the screen size. not a good example but it could be possible.

Hopefully the stick will just register as a pad when playing original DS games, making many titles a much more comfortable experience.

Yeah. Mario 64, Prime Hunters and Mario Kart DS come to mind.

64 was much better than Sunshine, and Galaxy would be better off on Wii.

Mario 64 already had its remake, don't think would milk it even further. But Sunshine could be a good contender.
