800 pixels, 400 for both eyes.....

Man, I think they got this right as the only way this could work is on a handheld.

My assumptions:
1. 2 pixels side by side
2. left pix for left eye and right pix for right eye
3. Uses angle of incidence between eye and screen to do mutual exclusion of pixels so right eye can't see left pixel.
4. Won't be useful on a non-handheld console as the angle of incidence is inversely proportional to distance.
