I think it has been confirmed that the 3D "pops out" as opposed to whats in that video.

The proper phrase is "couldn't care less". "Could care less" means you care.

That's headtracking 3D. The 3DS uses stereoscopics, so it'll be like any other stereoscopic effect. Though who knows what developers might do with all the features they've been given, they might just combine both effects together, although I'm not sure that would work going side-to-side.

didn't watch the vid before poasting the link.

But yeah that's something a bit different. I saw a much better vid that was straight from the conference earlier but I no longer have the link

I'm not sure that would work unless 3D glasses were involved. The 3DS requires a head-on view, and head-tracking requires you to move your field of vision around.

"Your first reaction is "Wow!", but then a fraction of second later your brain has a bit of a panicky wobble, as if something is wrong with your eyes."

lol

I wonder if it's even possible to see how the 3D works on internet videos. It sounds like something that would get lost in transition, but otherwise no one is going to see this effect until they purchase one

As I posted in another topic:

I'm thinking the 3D effect is more like how a holographic sticker looks or maybe how some DVD covers look with the special holographic image some special editions come with.

Or maybe it looks like one of those 3D photos from back in the 80's. Some younger people might not know what I'm talking about but i remember back when I was younger in the 80's someone had taken a picture of my as a kid and when I got the photo it was an actual 3D image. I have no idea where it is now but the texture of the "photo paper" was that of a holographic DVD cover from nowadays with the rough corrugated feel to it.
