This MGS pic does NOT accurately represent the power of the 3DS.

It was not recorded with actual gameplay. It's from a model viewer, which is a lot less taxing than having that amount of detail in a 3rd person perspective in an actual game. Sky Icarus is a much more accurate representation of the power of it, so far.

Okay. Thanks for being an authority on the 3DS, I'm going to believe everything you say.

thank you TC

some people here are having trouble understanding that MGS games use different character models for cutscenes and gameplay (the environments are the same though).

while not having to allow player control, A.I.routines, or anything off script, the processor is free to push mre polygons.

...The ps2 image was from a cutscene as well. Cutscene or not, the 3DS image still looks pretty damn nice.

noone knows what its going to look like ultimately. and certainly noone knows the internal specs of the machine.

what i find interesting though is the plethora of people desperately attempting, badly, to dampen users enthusiasm over the product.
i think what they fail to understand is that for the vast majority, every picture we see where someone claims it isnt going to be like that just makes us want the machine more.

Remember, all these games still need polishing up before release. They may look better than they already do. Most games look better on the screen than on a computer picture anyway.

And for that matter, the scene is more controlled during cutscenes, and you can more easily switch out high detail models for lower detail ones when they're too far from the screen for it to matter.

To be fair, the PS2 version is a model viewer as well.

the PS2 image is the in game model, i recognise it, it isn't used when snake has any speaking scenes with his mouth moving.

also notice how it is a zoomed in image on snakes face, a very small portion of the screen, blown...

i could take an up close image of Mario's head in Super Mario Galaxy 2 while the camera is zoomed out, inflate the section of the image, post it online, and it would look like crap too...

bull**** comparison
