Well, we all know that there's a front facing camera, so could it be that the camera detects the relative location of your eyes and then overlaps two "screens" over each other for the 3D effect?

If so, why isn't this technology used on computers with cameras? Or is it?

Speculate/confirm/deny here.

I thought this was already covered.

Two effective sets of "screens" in the one 3D screen, each with a narrow viewing angle. When looking at it dead on, each eye only sees one of the "screens", and thus a stereoscopic effect is achieved.

Nope. To the best of my knowledge, the screen is designed so that each alternating column of pixels is viewable by only the left or right eye. This is what gives it the 3d effect.

First of all, the two front cameras are for taking 3D pictures.

The screen works just like original 3D. It puts out a single image that your eyes see as two and in turn combine the two images which give the images the appearance of depth.

Where did you hear that they would be in columns? Couldn't they be in a grid?

I know you're all ****ing bricks over this resurgent 3D fad, but does anyone know if you can turn it off? That would be mega awesome.
