Will 3DS be the new golden age of gaming?

Many consoles and handhelds have come and gone though the great annals of video game history.

Many who have experienced the full spectrum on systems, from the original Pong to the latest technological marvel of the PS3, have considered the SNES the golden age of gaming.

The question I pose to gamers' now is: Can the 3DS lead us into a new golden age of gaming, as the greatest gaming device ever made?

How good each generation is is really subjective.

Personally, I feel we shouldn't base " ages " on generations. We're in the golden age now and have been since at least the NES era.
Brawl is like ZSS' breasts. Well rounded for casual players.

I think it will just be another high point in gaming history
You know Nintendo's a beast when Sony has a great conference and they poop on them with 2 games - NitemareNS

The Super Nintendo was by far, the greatest time to enjoy games. True competition with the Sega Genesis and quality games on BOTH systems. Each company kept each other in check, while other companies came and went.

Truly the best time to own a Nintendo console.

The DS kinda repeated that feeling for me, but there needed to be more 2D/3D Mario games and more Fighting games.

The 3DS seems like it is capturing some of that SNES/N64 magic and at this rate, it could become the greatest system i ever own!!
CAPCOM needs to make a third Capcom Classics Collection (Include Super Street Fighter II), Mega Man: Powered Up 2 & Mega Man: Powered Up 3 for the PSP!

I'm not sure if one handheld can make a "golden age" of gaming.

But will it be awesome? Rest assured.

I bet that once the 3DS specs are revealed, Sony will create a PSP3D with a larger screen and higher resolution using the same method as the 3DS.
R.I.P Team Fortress 2 updates on the Xbox 360.

I suppose I could consider 3ds + starcraft 2 + diablo 3 to be a golden age.
