So how does the 3D effect look exactly?

Its kind of hard to get demos and representations on the internet because comp screens dont have the components to relay the 3D effects. BUt is it just like watching 3D movie but you somehow dont have to have glasses?

Is it like this but without the shaking?

Denial. When reality doesn't fit with you, you simply just make up your own reality.

From what I have read, the image has depth but you have to view it from a certain angle.

I'm really confused about how it's going to work also. I've read and heard that the graphics seem to "pop out" of the screen, like actual physical things. I can't imagine that is the case though.

The most I can imagine is know those glass cubes that have 3D images in them? Something like that. Or like an unscrambled Magic Eye. I'm guessing that the screens will appear to be a lot deeper than they are, like looking down into a box or something.

Either way, I feel like the only DS gamer who's not excited at all about this thing :l

I'm thinking the 3D effect is more like how a holographic sticker looks or maybe how some DVD covers look with the special holographic image some special editions come with.

Or maybe it looks like one of those 3D photos from back in the 80's. Some younger people might not know what I'm talking about but i remember back when I was younger in the 80's someone had taken a picture of my as a kid and when I got the photo it was an actual 3D image. I have no idea where it is now but the texture of the "photo paper" was that of a holographic DVD cover from nowadays with the rough corrugated feel to it.

I think that's the most accurate interpretation of what it's supposed to be like. Everyone that's played one has said it's like looking into a box.

No, that's not accurate at all. That's head tracking 3D.

3DS uses stereoscopic 3D. Which has a "pop out" effect.

Everyone that's played one has said it's like looking into a box.

No one who has actually seen the effect has said that. Where are you getting your info from?
The proper phrase is "couldn't care less". "Could care less" means you care.

The 3d "effect'" doesn't look like an effect at all. It is pretty incredible to see for yourself, and hard to believe what can be achieved without glasses. You have to be careful not to move the 3DS around too much or you lose the effect. It really does look the same as any 3d movie you would see, or the 3d the PS3 is pulling off.
