Software Install, *****es!

1. 3DS will probably have 256MB of memory, meaning you'll probably be able to install like half a game.

2. Knowing Nintendo, uploading a game to the 3DS' memory will probably lock it to that system, so if your 3DS breaks, not only will you lose your downloaded Ware games, now you'll lose your retail games too!

3. Wouldn't people buy a game, install it, then sell or return the card?

Hmmm, I had an idea. Maybe when you install a game, the install is good for say 24 hours, then if you want to keep playing it from the memory, you need to insert the cart again to renew the leaseof the install.

That would be ideal.

Do you have a Wii? There's a Data Management screen where all of your concerns become nonexistent.

If you mean putting saves on the SD card. You can't put anything with competitive online on it like Brawl.

SD Card

If it breaks, you could probably call Nintendo and send the 3DS and any carts to them, to get it fixed and games reactivated.

If once you install the game, they could implement a sort of lock on the cartridge so it can only be used on the 3DS unit it was installed on until you uninstall it from the 3DS. They could curb the used game market too, places like Gamestop would have to check games to be sure they aren't locked before they buy them back.

I was thinking about Nintendo adding a feature like this. I have a Cyclo, and I mainly got it so I could dump the games I bought to it and carry them around easier so this feature would be awesome to me.
