The Good and the Bad...

The good:
Nice graphics

The Bad:
Good graphics=expensive games

$39.99 is way too much *looks at PSP games* when you can have nice a PS3 or 360 or Wii game for $10 to $20 more.

There are some handheld games that give me more enjoyment than some console games really...

As long as they don't go above $39.99, it's cool with me.

Pokemon is an exception. I thought they were rip-offs

I'm going to guess that piracy will rule the 3DS a month after it's release. Nintendo hasn't really protected their products well. Again *looks at PSP*

Good graphics don't make something cost more.

The Gamecube had much better graphics than the N64, but the games all cost less. The Wii has better graphics (at least the potential) than the GCN, and the games cost the same or less. The GBA launched with games costing $40, and eventually went down in price. Very rarely do DS games go above $30 unless they are Mario, Pokemon or random RPG titles. Expect the 3DS to do the same, and then go down over time like all the other systems.

The reason that 360 and PS3 games cost $10 more than the Wii and last gen games, is because companies are throwing 10s of millions of dollars MORE into the budgets of games and advertising for the games than they once did.

The reason that N64 games cost a lot($60-$75) was because it used cartridges rather than discs.
The PS3 can get away with $60 games because it actually uses Blu-ray. The Xbox 360 really do not have a legitimate reason besides the fact that they can get away with it.

To people with jobs and a little extra money, it's probably not a big deal how much games really are(depending on how much of a gamer you are, of course), but for a lot of kids or money-tight, it'll probably burn them.

@spooie
Wii graphics suck. They're just as good as the original Xbox which is why they cost less. With almost PS2 like graphics there's no way that the 3DS games will be cheap. But then again Nintendo games aren't know for their graphics.

I'll be sticking with my DS Lite for a while and wait for this to drop price.

If Wii graphics "suck" and yet they're "As good as the Xbox"... what on earth were you playing all the years before the current generation that was so great, because you're discrediting everything in the last 30 years?
