Why is it that people complain that it's too similar? Just look at GameBoy:

GameBoy/GameBoy Pocket
GameBoy Color
GameBoy Advance/GameBoy Advance SP/GameBoy Advance Micro

Are you crazy? The GBA, SP, and Micro all look completely different.

Has anyone still got the origional gameboy? It looks like a brick even though it still has its charm about it. Its the same with my friends first generation DS. Its a horrible looking thing in all honesty comparing to our lite.

The whole point I'm trying to convey is that based on the screenshots of the new 3DS I am impressed that for all that it promises under the good it looks a nice. It isn't big/bulky, and the screen size is reasonable considering its likely to be the first of a few redesigns and models.
