2D games in 3D... that sounds so contradictive.

Yet it happens... Professor Layton, for example. Paper Mario too, I guess. But it's essentially a 3D game with a drawn, toony look.

The neat thing about Paper Mario is it'll feel like you're playing a virtual diorama.

I'm kind of starting to think that holographic 3D should get its own distinguishing name, because it already exists as a term in VG land to describe polygonal graphics. It's pretty confusing at times.
