Should I be worried about a shortage?

Was it hard to find a DS, DSi and or DSi XL at launch? It took me close to a year to get a Wii. It was at TOYS R US out of all the places >:(. A lot of the stores never got new shipments or when they had shipments it was like 5 Wii's. I never really knew about the DS or cared but my dad got me it randomly one day then I got Sonic Rush and that's how my DS career started lol.

The big rush was mainly for the wii. No one thought the DS would be any good when it came out (even though it owns now) and every harrcore fan hates the DSi and the XL (I no no one who actually has an XL). Every mother and her dog bought a wii. So expect a bit of a shortage, but nothing crazy.
Nickelback? Post-grunge? Ha.

It's hard to tell right now. There's still one more year to go and a lot of information we don't know about the system yet. Based on speculation, there's a good possibility. There's a vast amount of hype encompassing this platform right now.

expect a BIG shortage and expect it to be crazy. I've been in this business for a long time and I can tell you based on what the 3DS is all about and the 3D craze. This handheld WILL sell like hot cakes and I can almost guarantee (except in waaay out in the boonies or are very rare lucky occasions) you will not beable to get your hands on this unless you pre-order or are lucky or one of the ones that goes to target or the like every morning at 7 a.m. hoping to scoop one up.

It's going to be big.
playing: WoW (PC)
$$ soon: Blue Dragon (DS), MM Zero (DS), River City Soccer (DS), Arc Rise Fantasia (Wii)

Everyone hyped the Wii to hell and back. It seems... less for the 3DS. I guess it depends on where you live?

Also, any remotely popular medium of gaming at the very initial release can prove hard to obtain at first. Good luck getting your copy though! I'm going to wait awhile lol.

If you're worried about supplies being limited, you could always pre-order the 3DS. I'm pretty sure pre-ordering isn't restricted to just software.

As soon as I find out when they start accepting pre-orders at GameStop, I'm pre-ordering my 3DS.

Yeah, the DSi/XL was more of a expansion/tacked on stuff that the majority don't care about. Waste of money (x. Anyways, more demand means that stores will order more. This is a different example but Halo 3 was easy to pick up and look how hyped that was. Maybe Nintendo will learn to make more copies of the 3DS. I don't want to but this at launch, I want to see what other games will be planned, the flaws etc...

Just to add, they probably won't hold my preorder for months down the road (x.
