It was bullcrap. And from the looks of it, we might have gotten a far better chip instead, so no worries.

What are you talking about? The Terga chip came out in 2009, the chip the 3DS is using is from 2006. The Tegra is a bit more advanced, and can output HD.

The only reason why it's not being used is most likely price and possibly power consumption.. though Zune HD uses it and gets a pretty good battery life).

Nintendo could be using the 2008 PICA model and not the 2006 one. It hasn't been confirmed either way.

The problem is, should they use the most recent Tegra chip (made from 2009), not only would the price for the 3DS be incredibly high, but with the battery life that will be much more terrible (like, only 1-3 hours at the most).
