In this topic, noone understands the concept of business.

They release the 3DS this holiday, and due to its price, every single other big nintendo game coming out this holiday will suffer, and ultimately become forgotten about.

They release it next spring, and all their games will flourish this holiday, people will have a few months to recover and save money, and then buy the 3DS. And it will sell very well holiday 2011 anyway.

Take a business class and this will all make sense to you.

It doesn't matter when Nintendo releases it....it will sell out immediately and there will be vast shortages.

The only thing that will determine the release date at this point is software. As in, what games are ready for launch, and what games will suffer in terms of sales from its release (ie people won't be as interested in the new Kirby for Wii when they have a 3DS and several 3DS games to buy).

Heck, most people haven't even seen what the 3DS games actually look like and the demand is frothing. Wait until Wal-Mart and Gamestop get demo units to try out.




He pretty much has it here. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo already has the 3DS ready to go for production, it certainly seemed like it from E3. The big question is, will there be support on launch day? Nintendo made it very clear that they are all about the games when the 3DS releases, so the schedule for releasing the system might just be the schedule for when the games are completed.

Untrue. Look at holiday season 2004 when the original DS launched in November. There were a large amount of other big title games on Nintendo systems coming out, doesn't mean a darn thing.
