Ok fine its still there, but based on its position, it looks like its not going to be used anymore. I think its new primary use will be to toggle through stuff

Placement of everything on the system is still tentative.

Personally speaking, as long as the D-pad is still comfortable to use I don't mind it being beneath the slider.

It's not a lame slider like on the PSP it's an actual analog stick, like what you find on wii nunchuck, only the 3DS analog stick is much smaller
