5% of the population have Flat Vision.

I'm part of that demographic. It means I can't see 3D properly like other people. The cause can be 3 things.

1) Lazy eye
2) You only have one eye (aka a pirate with a eye patch)
3) Your brain has processed your eye site to only see the world flat (that would be me)

Feel bad for me because I really wanted to play the experience to the fullest. BTW I saw a 3D version of Avatar because all my friends wanted to see it in 3D and all I saw was a crappy blurry version.

Funny part is my eye site is 20/15 better than your average persons eyesite.

The new features besides 3D and all the awesome games are still enough to warrant a purchase. If i couldn't see 3D, i'd still buy the system.

Is there a type of glasses/ contacts that you can wear to fix your eye sight? (like most eye sight problems)

What if one eye is near sighted but the other is far sighted? My girlfriend has this issue.

A.) It is possible that he has a problem in depth perception, however these people do not view the world as flat, but they do have a difficult time perceiving depth. Even people with one eye still see the world in 3D.

B.) The process in which he described doesn't make any sense.

A larger portion of the world's population can't afford any luxury items at all and in some cases these overlap. The majority of 3DS users will be able to use the 3D. If you fall into a minority then I'm afraid you kind of get excluded (somewhat).

What if one eye is near sighted but the other is far sighted? My girlfriend has this issue.

Then she should be wearing a pair of glasses with two different corrective lenses. That's simple enough to solve as long as she has actually bothered to get some glasses.
