Is anybody excited about the fact that the slide pad gives us 4 more buttons?

(In the form of the d-pad?)

I am, because as shown in this screenshot it can probably be put to good use:

This, along with the added control options of the gyroscope and accelerometer add so many possibilities.

as someone that has played peacewalker and portable ops, turning the d-pad into more buttons just turns it into an uncomfortable control scheme that forces you to claw at your system.

No. D-pad as buttons doesn't work so well in practice.

I will admit, the PSPs analog stick sucks, I dont mean because its small, I mean after playing it for 2-5 years, the analog stick starts to defect and it gets worse.

Slide Pad may actually be alot better than the PSPs analog stick cause of it using buttons instead of a NUB!

PSP D-pad was great with MGS peace walker.

no. it was adequate. It allowed for smooth gameplay, but not necessarily comfortable gameplay. Having to claw at the up button got annoying when you realize how frequently you have to press it while still using the analog stick.

I have never once used the analog and d-pad at the same time in peace walker. Moving my thumb to press the button real quick worked excellently. Monster Hunter on the other hand. Yeah. CLAW HANDS MCGEE!
