I thought the "3DS" in Nintendo 3DS was already taken by Autodesk 3DS Max

3Ds Max is the actual name.
It used to be called 3D Studio Max, but changed a fair while back.

Considering I'm sure many 3DS games will be made with the 3DStudio Max and therefore continue to make 3Ds Max money they probably won't care. :P

3 dimensional system, just coz it has the same name as the ds doesnt mean the ds abbreviation means the same thing
