not necessarily but there are more FPSs than RPGs nowadays and its getting very, very repetitive.

Yes.
At least RPGs are still at least attempting to try different things. Go play Tales of Vesperia, Final Fantasy XIII, Persona 4, Etrian Odyssey, Mario & Luigi 3, and/or Dragon Quest IX and tell me they're anything alike. And that's only some recent RPGs I named off the top of my head.

Meanwhile, I can still only hardly tell any of the FPSes at E3 apart.
