IGN article

"don't expect something that costs more than $200"

I read that earlier on IGN.com. Nintendo replied with an email to some of IGN's questions saying, "dont expect the system to be over $200."

All along I guessed it would be $250 max with a pack in game/demo, and of course that's in Canadian dollars so even if the 3DS does release in the states for $200 it'll probably be around $230 here. Pretty close estimate if this is true.

Where in that article is there any confirmation from Nintendo that the system will be $200 or less? IGN has made up bullcrap before. They initially reported that the DSi would have two touch screens, and recently that 3DS developers told them the system would be as powerful as PS3 or 360... They even admit they don't know how much it will be, using logic that doesn't necessarily hold true for this generation just because it has for the past-

"We don't know how much the system's going to cost, but going by past experiences and competition, don't expect something that costs more than $200."

This topic is misleading and the people in it aren't helping any by being so gullible. I myself have hope it will be $200, but i don't believe IGN of all people. They're no longer reliable.

We don't know how much the system's going to cost, but going by past experiences and competition, don't expect something that costs more than $200.

That's still guesswork from the guy who wrote the article. It was mentioned in an entirely separate question. If this were in it's own section about the pricing I'd ghive it more weight. As for now, I'm tossing it up as just more guesstimation.
