Nintendo 3DS

My DS phat is perfectly okay...

It works it has some minor problems like missing its stylus and some fading of the paint and some kitten bites (yes my kitten bit my DS while I was playing it.)

I'm kinda tired of having just the DS and I am interested in what if any good DSi games are available...

I was wondering if I should just wait to get the 3DS or not.

Definitely wait. Even if it's almost a year before you get a 'replacement' DS, you'll essentially get everything the DSi has and more when you do get a 3DS.

Plus, there's no guarantee that if you did get a DSi, and bought DSi exclusive downloads on it, that you'll ever be able to transfer them to a 3DS in the future.

If your DS dies, and you have a full library of games for DS that you can't play anymore, the best thing to do would still be to wait for the release of the 3DS. You'd be able to play them, and you'd have a whole new console that's capable of much, much more, and isn't just a model redesign.

I guess I just love handing huge wads of money out to Nintendo. Not only did I fork out for a DS phat and Lite, I bought a DSi at launch and then, last week, went and bought an XL while my DSi had no problems (save an unresponsive R button) and I didn't trade it in. In fact, I think I handed down my Lite and bought another, making 5 (The same as the cameras!!) the number of DS systems I, personally, have owned and used. In my defense, I only have my DSi and XL anymore, and a GBA SP for, well, GBA. The point is if you've taken such extraordinary care of your phat then you should wait. But I for one don't regret buying any of those DS's.
