I just read an article on how some power of the 3DS is used up to make the 3D effects, which could have been used to render better graphics. This got me to thinking, what if developers released two versions of their games; one with the 3D effects, and one with great graphics. Sounds possible to me. --- And everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

Meh, too much trouble on their part. I doubt it. --- http://i48.tinypic.com/2ztiy2w.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/332vyw6.jpg

Why bother. Even with the 3D, the system can still pull off some great graphics (watch the kid Icarus video for an example). Anyway, developers are way to lazy to do that.

Even when the 3D slider is set all the way to 2D, it's still showing two 2D images on the screen at the same time, it's just that it has no noticable 3D effect.
Essentially, there's no way to make a 'non-3D' game to improve performance, because no matter what happens, it's always going to be using the same power to display two angles on the 3D screen, even if they're both the same angle so it looks 2D.
