Stereoscopic 2D Graphics

Would it be possible for a developer to develop a game with 2D graphics, but make two whole different sets of graphics for each eye's POV. Essentially, the game would have depth, but the graphics would be 2D.

No, it wouldn't have depth. Two pictures isn't all you need to get 3D.

Yes, it's possible. They already have the classic 2D titles Mega Man 2, Yoshi's Island and Punch Out on deck for 3D enhanced releases.

They will be remade in 3D graphics, however.

^No, they'll be 2D sprites. At least that's what those who saw the video of them at E3 are reporting. Many speculate these will be 3DS VC releases.

VC titles are usually straight ports. Only exception seems to be minimal translation of import titles.

I wonder if they could make a VC All-Stars where one eye is SNES and the other is the original NES graphics.
