Imagine you just bought a 3DS. You open up it up, charge it, use it, and wham, instead of seeing 3D, you see double images and blur.

Would you feel really disappointed? or shrug it off, turn down the slider and just wait for some good games?

In my case I'd be devastated, and jealous enough to sell it on craigslist. I'm sure it'll work for me though, I always am able to see the 3D pics in Magic Eye/Sterogram posters.

I'm still worried though..

That would be a very very VERY large downer. Personally I would be pissed, throw it at a wall, and sell it if it's not to badly damaged.
But I wouldn't be worried. I haven't heard of it not working for anyone yet.

Daemon Hatfield of IGN cannot see the 3D effect, he does have astigmatism though. Also there will be thousands and thousands of people unable to see the 3D effect properly. So I assume there will be some angry buyers. Hopefully there will be kiosks with 3DS's in a case running demos, so you can see for yourself.

Oh man. I have astigmatism. If I can't see it... RAGE. :/
It might just be the antifreeze I just drank, but that sounds like the greatest idea ever! - regdod (on eating a DS battery)

I also have astigmatism.. but I can see fine, I can see glasses 3D fine, so I think I'd be able to see this fine. His astigmatism is probably pretty bad.

sweeet, I have really bad astigmatism. Although, like the other poster, I haven't had any problem with seeing other 3D things.

The main things i expected this handheld so much is not the 3D effects, yes, i was expecting a nice 3D effect, but i'm still can survive without it, i'll just turn the 3D off, and enjoying the game
what i'm really expecting is the games, and how the game should be played with new features. the 3DS has a potent to be a best gaming system on this era, and i trust nintendo ( not fanboysm) to please the gamer and get a money from it (2 birds with 1 stone )
