Anyone else's screen protectors crease the top screen?

I don't get it? Can someone please tell me what is going on here? Sorry to sound stupid. But is the screen protector damaging the screen or what is the deal here? I just bought a screen protector today, so that is why I am asking. Thank you in advance!

Be glad it's only denting the screen protectors, because without them it would cause actual damage to your top screen. If any sort of pressure is applied to either side of the 3DS while it's closed, the bottom screen's edges get forced into the top screen, eventually damaging it. This is a known defect of the 3DS. The only ways to combat this are to either place something between the screens between uses (such as a microfiber cloth), or to artificially extend the rubber nubs on the corners of the top panel, which seem to be the actual source of the problem as they're too small to do their job.
