Is the 3DS more "hardcore Nintendo" than the Wii?

While I knowthe Wii has more titles, the 3DS does have newer technology...so perhaps thats what all the hardcore Nintendo fans are.playing...or no?

The real contemporary hardcore Nintendo system is the DS. And since the 3DS is backwards compatible with it, the answer to your topic question is "yes."

It's too early to say. Nintendo themselves don't produce 'hardcore' games. That's up to the third parties. It's too early to say whether the 3DS will have significant 'hardcore' third party support.

I just mean "hardcore NINTENDO", not hardcore gamer stuff...sorry I know it sounds stupid.

the term hardcore needs to die, just like the term tryhard or gay (using the word gay to describe something you dont like)

Why would hardcore need to die? Hardcore is exactly where Nintendo needs to go if it wants to keep up with the industry.

Not only those, but casual as well. These are subjective terms. Nintendo makes games. Whether or not they appeal to one group or another is subjective. They are not "hardcore" or "casual" because those could have different definitions to different people. They're just terms conjured up by media to instigate this insipid "hardcore vs. casual" ****.

As to the question, if you mean less mini-game compilations and their ilk, then yes. I would say the 3DS is shaping up to have less of those than the Wii.
