I did a search for 'Iwata' and checked the first page but didn't see this mentioned.

What!? The year is barely half over. There are several good games on the way this year.

A gamer should want as many games as possible, from as many different genres as possible,on as many different systems as possible, for as many people as possible

Thing is...nobody cares what you like. For the rest of us we have awesome NEW games, and a few remasterings of some of the best games of all time. This is a fantastic year as far as software releases. I'm sorry you're making yourself so miserable over it. You might want to try another hobby then...have you considered knitting? You seem like you'd be good at it.

I want NEW games.

Not games I have already experienced with a shiny coat of paint.

I want to play a game I have yet to experience.

Don't even act like this is not reasonable.

The response to that is "You think?"

I kind of agree with you there - even the Vita's launch games look like mostly ports and rehashes, with very few "brand spanking new" games. I think it's a time thing - it's probably easier to port something than it is to build a game from the ground up (story, characters, art, environs, systems, etc.) so that's why a lot of launch titles tend to be ports and the like. I think even 360 and PS3 had similar problems when they came out - don't remember too many new games that were specific to those next-gen consoles right off the bat. A few, but not droves of them.

Hopefully next year will be better.
