Simplestar, you only need to contemplate this because Nintendo screwed us all over yet in the other thread you tried to rip chunks out of me for saying I wasn't happy about it.

Why buy multiple consoles to play imports when every other company than Nintendo is stopping region locking and Nintendo bring it in for the first time on a handheld with the 3DS? You have to be pretty stupid to think that this situation is acceptable and going to end well for them or their customers.

I never said you weren't happy about it and I'd be willing to buy myself another 3DS. This situation probably won't end well, though it doesn't matter. Nintendo still makes a profit off of the 3DS. Between their games, and their console.

yet another way, Nintendo hinders importing...

You should thank Nintendo for being so intuitive and making such an effort to keep you in line.

all the game companies do this with their systems if you import, not just Nintendo.

Warranty doesn't cover overseas usage, so if something happens you're screwed basically. You could probably argue that it occured in Japan, etc etc, but yeah.

Most warranties are only valid for their country/region of purchase.

If you take your electronics overseas, ignore voltage warnings etc and use a crap/cheap charger and it blows, its your own fault.

I say wait for the hombrew community to fix this problem. No reason to give nintendo more money on top of the over priced and now poorly built 3DS.

Also wait because if they come out with a new model it may be region free. they are just stupid enough to do this like this is a feature they are adding like it should have been there from the begining.

This. Save yourself the time and money and just wait for the homebrew community to find a way to make the 3DS region free.
