What is the point of Netflix on a portable?

#1megax11Posted 7/14/2011 10:39:38 AM
Okay, so I have Netflix. I also have a 3DS, Wii, 360, PS3, 2 laptops, and 1 PC.

All of those can use Netflix.

Why would I want to use my 3DS to play Netflix, when I can watch it on much bigger screens? Why would anyone else? Obviously to have Netflix, you have to have the internet at home, which means you have a computer. So why not watch it on the PC, instead of a portable?

I would love the concept of portables having Netflix, like the 3DS and maybe Vita, "IF" they could actually be used on the go. However, the 3DS and Vita online functions can't be used without some sort of wireless connection.

I like the concept, but it just doesn't make much sense. It would make sense, if somehow Netflix was an app that had all info stored, so you didn't need a connection to stream, so you could take it on the go. Then it would be the most innovative thing since the light bulb.

There is no point for you, or for me, but not everyone has better ways of watching netflix I guess. I dont know. Id much rather watch on my laptop with a huge screen or on my big tv.

Gee, I dunno.

I suppose you must not have a significant other if you can't see the use of a portable Netflix during these scenarios:

1.) Girlfriend/Wife watching TV you're not interested in
2.) Girlfriend/Wife asleep in the bed, TV brightness and sound would wake her up

...and another thousand scenarios like that. Why even ask this question? Does it bother you that the option is there? Seriously, what a waste of a question.

Oh, and FYI, Vita has 3G, which means you can stream movies to it from anywhere, it doesnt need to be near a hotspot.

For the Vita I get it. For the 3DS I dont.

Because there aren't wifi hotspots anywhere you go, right? Hotels, airports, some busses even all allow you to use it on the go when you need it the most.
