3DS fell down and now PERMANENT double images?

#1RayHorakPosted 7/15/2011 7:51:53 AM
I accidently my 3DS and now, no matter what game I play, or what video I'm watching, I get those horrible double images.
When I close the eyes seperately, the right eyes sees the correct picture, but the left eye will ALWAYS have a double image for some reason. The angle in which I can view 3D is also kind of messed up. If I angle slightly (but still in the boundary of being able to view the 3D), the double image gets slightly better or worse, but it never vanishes and is always there.
Anyone else know about this?

Wise man once asked: Was it the 3DS that fell down or your head? *twirls long beard*

You accidentally your 3DS? Ooh, that's bad. When you accidentally your console, it can break all sorts of stuff. The bad part? When you accidentally your device, it's not covered by warranty.

Try to do a "reset", remove the battery for more than a minute, then reinstall the battery and see what happens

When I tilt vertically, the double image gets more or less visible, but never vanishes, tilting vertically never used to do anything to the 3D while still in the range that made the 3D visible. I think the filter (parallax barrier) might have slightly moved when I dropped it :(

the only thing you can do is contact Nintendo, and seeing as the damage was caused by you it will be $85 or more for a repair.

It's not as bad to warrant a repair, when held in exactly the right angle, the image is barely visible, but still it's bad knowing it worked flawlessly before and now I'll always have a slight double image :/

That really sucks..... they don't make them like they use too. You could, drop, burn, crush, [exaggerating of course] the old models from the 1st GBDS and all previous model gameboys and as long as the screen didn't break it would play just fine.... Since launch I dropped my 3ds 4 times but it was in a protective carrying case and while I was getting out of my car.... I also dropped my fat psp, the case I had was designed to be open on one end. I had it upside down and it slipped out, hit the concrete, the screen cracked and the bottom right corner was destroyed lol.....

People just don't understand how the 3DS works. Unlike previous DS', you can't screw around with it or you risk messing up the 3D. To be honest, the only time I dropped a handheld was once and that was my original DS. These days, everything is ultra thin and light so you have to be more careful.
