The Electroplankton series

#1Iced_ShadowsPosted 7/18/2011 12:55:08 AM
Of the ten Electroplankton apps in the DSiWare, which do you think I should download to my 3DS? I'd like to have one that is going to entertain me more than thirty seconds. I don't expect it to entertain me a lot, but just enough to want to use it more than once when I'm bored.

Anyway, anybody want to recommend one of these? Based on how interactive it is or how well the "music" sounds? I just can't choose after watching those videos in the eShop... >_<;

After reading about the game and hearing how people who actually own it like it, I'd love to buy the full game. However, the price is usually far too steep for me to do that. I could honestly download all the Electroplankton apps for cheaper right now, I think. But thank you for replying! =]

Also, an update: I realize I have enough money to buy not one, but three Electroplanktons. I'm definitely going to download Varvoice, but I'm not sure about the other two. I'd love some opinions! =]

skip Varvoice it's the worst rated one and I agree it's terrible

go with Beatnes

and Luminarrow -

I use Luminarrow a lot for background ambient sound.. I leave my 3DS on the charge cradle and let it randomly create sounds.

I also have Rec-Rec, and even though it got a decent review it's boring and you can't really create anything musical.

Marine Crystals is the only other one I have and it's decent

hope this helps.

Dang! I went to sleep just before you posted this, and I went ahead and got three. Funny enough I didn't get any of the ones you listed, but I'm still satisfied. Sun-Animalcule is by far my favorite so far. Nanocarp is decent, but gets boring fast. Varvoice is fun to mess with around friends, so it was worth it.

Beatnes, Luminarrow, and Hanenbrow (the leaf one) are the best.

Beatnes has retro sounds and it's pretty easy to make music on it

Luminarrow makes beautiful music no matter how bad you are at it lol

Hanenbrow is soothing and feels the most like a 'game'. Infinite possibilities in it

I also have Tarpy, the line-drawing one, adlnd it's okay. I definitely recommend getting the first three I mentioned later in the future

as long as you like what you got that's all that really matters.. Eventually I'm going to get all of them. For what they are they're all pretty cool, some are just a little more fun to mess around with than others.

I think I'm going to get Luminarrow, Beatnes, and Marine Crystals next. After playing with the three I currently have, I believe I, too, will get all of them. They are certainly worth the two bucks.

Not sure if I want to get Hanenbow yet, as I have a bias against it due to Brawl. =S

Playing Hanenbrow on the 3DS gave me appreciation for that Brawl level

I, too, used to hate that level. But I gotta say, Hanenbrow is the funnest one to use. You move each leaf to whatever angle you want and the planktons bounce off them. It has 4 areas too, and its fun to get some crazy bounces in it
