anyone else think the 3ds should've had a better camera?

I mean for what you pay you'd think they'd put a better camera on it rather then a less than 2 megapixel camera? Even some of the oldest phones have a better camera than the 3ds, and if people are gonna say just buy a proper camera then it just defies the point of putting a camera on a 3ds in the first place.

I just think it would be nice to see a decent picture in 3d rather than a pixelated blur of 3d :\ does noone else reckon that the camera should be a lot better for saying that this is meant to be the "next gen" console?

I think you should go educate yourself about cameras a bit before making a topic about them...

You think the picture is blurry? It has nothing to do with the megapixels. I could ask you to give me one good reason you'd need more megapixels for this camera for any videogame-related activities...but I have a feeling you're one of the masses who just sees BIGGER NUMBER MUST BE BETTER.

Seriously, we've all seen this topic a thousand times, and I'd much rather people try to post topics that make sense and discuss valid criticisms.

To be fair, the 3DS's camera is mainly for gameplay purposes and not for you to use as an everyday camera. But yes I agree, it doesn't take away from the fact that the camera sucks.

the camera doesn't suck.. just be more creative with it. Sure it has limitations but you can do some cool stuff. Did you see the stuff I did at the link I posted in the other topic ?

Well, Nintendo has all but stated that the price of the 3DS is higher because of people's reactions to it at E3, so, I wouldn't look at it like that.

And, the one reason I really wish I knew more about cameras, I'm guessing that it might take specific processors to efficiently process cameras, or else you'd need a much more powerful architecture meant to run games to run better cameras.

It's wrong to say there is no correlation between picture quality and pixel count; it's impossible to take very detailed photos with a low pixel count like 0.3MP, although there are other factors that affect the quality of the picture, such as exposure time, focus, lighting etc.
