Sometimes it seems like it takes a few tries to power up.

Anyone else have to push the power button a few times in order to power on the 3ds. How long I hold it down doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Sometimes it seems to come on with a simple push, other times it seems to take a push or too.

I've noticed this two.Usually takes three presses of equal length to turn on (and yes, I've waited after the first press to see if it's just a delayed response, and nothing happened for a minute afterwards).

I have experienced the same thing. There is definitely something clunky going on with the power button.

There were a few topics on this, http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997614-3ds/59591965 and somewhere on the Nintendo forums.

I noticed it right after the June update, and there hasn't been a firmware update since. But pretty much everyone on the other thread said it happened after the update so it's most likely a firmware problem.

Stop posting about having valid problems with the 3DS! You guys are just trolls... Like a Boss!!

That post was pure sarcasm, by the way. I'm just having fun before the fanboys come trash you for saying that the 3DS isn't perfect in every way because they say so.

I've never had that problem myself. Then again, I leave my 3DS in sleep mode all the time. The last time I had to turn it off is when Netflix froze on me (after booting it up the first time. A lot of people had this one time freeze problem it seemed though.) I held the button and turned it off. Waited 30 seconds and turned it on and it turned on with the first button push.

But I do know that after the last firmware update (eshop and such), a lot of people were having this problem so you're definitely not alone.

Yep, I've noticed this too. Doesn't really bother me much. I play Dr. Mario just as well.

Thank you for posting. This annoys me to no end. Arbitrarily hold the button and hope that it turns on and nothing happens. I just end up pressing it a number of times and eventually it works. Weird.
