Hardware and Software Sales Japan 7/11-7/17

Just took this from Nintendo Everything, who took the hardware sales from Media Create and the software sales (ranking, not actual number) from Famitsu.. Note: This is only for Japan.

3DS 46,637
PSP 26,551
PS3 23,322
Wii 14,237
DSi LL 4,693
DSi 4,384
Xbox 360 1,734
PS2 1,405
DS Lite 131
PSP go 14

1. [PS3] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2011
2. [PSP] Taiko no Tatsujin Portable DX
3. [Wii] Inazuma Eleven Strikers
4. [PSP] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2011
5. [DS] Puyo Puyo!
6. [3DS] Star Fox 64 3D
7. [PSP] UnchainBlades Rexx
8. [Wii] Wii Sports Resort
9. [3DS] The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
10. [PS3] L.A. Noire

3DS had a good week over there it seems. Star Fox was only number 6 and it released at the end of the week on 7/14, so I'm not sure why 3DS sales more than doubled. (Last week they were at 22,943, so it was an increase of 103%)

looks like 3ds only sells when there are games...
(cant wait for MK3ds to be released there and senran kagura, i want to see how much higher they are boosted)

afaik JP doesnt really like mario (i hear galaxy bombed in japan)

edit- it also seems the MML3 news didnt really affect anything

I find it interesting that LA Noire is on the charts. Don't Rockstar games usually do godawful in Japan?

3DS sales doubled because starfox. It came out 07/14. They'll see another dip, then another rise when something first party, a good rpg or a date sim pops up.

I acknowledged that in my original post, lol. But Star Fox sold at number 6, and it came out in the last half of the week, so it's kind of surprising. But I'm sure that's partially or mostly the cause.

The part where you said "not sure why 3DS sales doubled" kind of lead me to believe you didn't quite know why 3DS sales doubled.....

PSP go 14

My god.... Is that an average age demographic, or a sales number?

Ugh, are we really gonna nitpick and fight over something so small? Geez, I said from that list it would look like Star Fox didn't help it that much, like I described in my original post, and that's why I was surprised the 3DS's sales doubled. Sorry if I confused. : (

While it would be accurate either way, I believe only 14 people in Japan bought a PSP go that week. XD A decrease from 34 last week.

Yeah. It's good to see L.A. Noire is doing alright tbh.
