A lot of Vita/3DS comparisons here. But, has anyone considered...

the Vita's 3G model? Isn't that the one people are more likely to purchase? I know a lot of people have iphones these days and that was an exclusive to AT&T for awhile. Wouldn't the people that never changed carriers be more likely to pick up the 3G model? If so, is the Vita's price still really competitive with the 3DS?

3G is useless for gaming. Why Sony included it is beyond me.

well actually it lets you play online pretty much anywhere but 50 bucks is worth it more for more areas to play online when you can just plop down on your couch and use your wifi or go to one of the thousands of free wi-fi places. 3g model only worth it to those who play online all the time otherwise get the non 3g and save money.( or get a 3ds instead :) )

You can't play online with 3G. >_>
It's only meant for social purposes... not so useful anymore, is it?

Wi-Fi only model for me. If you have a phone that can be used as a hot spot or a portable Wi-Fi router you could actually play online games, and it'd work for more than just the Vita.

Sorry TC but that isn't the case. The entry point for PSVita is the same as the 3DS, and a lot of people do not feel the need for 3G on their PSVita so they will be getting the Wi-Fi only model.

The $250 PSVita will be the top selling model, the 3G one will be seen as a premium for those who really want 3G on their handheld

I would say that Vita sales will split 80/20 in favour of the WiFi model - the one without 3G. Most people either aren't going to need it, or will be willing to live without it, or can tether their phones to it through WiFi anyway. Other than 3G connectivity, so far it seems that the only thing that the 3G model will offer over the WiFi model is GPS, and for most people in (even slightly) urban environments wireless location discovery can match GPS.

if I'm gonna have to pay for subrcriptions for 3G (on top of what I already have) then it's completely useless to me. Wifi is okay, but I don't need 3G in gaming console in the first place. For me, a handheld that size wouldn't be suitable as a phone.
