The posts in this thread are classic. So, Namco or any other company is allowed to make a game with a locked save feature, yet Capcom gets ridiculed, bashed at for doing the EXACT same thing?

*sigh*

Well, most of us hate Namco for many, MANY other reasons.

Just not enough people care about another Namco Museum as they do RE.

They do with Abyss though, and all bets are off. Vancouver will have nothing on the riots that would ensue.

At least a thing like this, the umpteenth version of a classic arcade game where the entire point is about building up score and nothing else, it makes a little bit of sense to program that in. That RE game stretches it, but anything beyond that would just... no. Just no.

GFAQs law works in a similar fashion to Godwin's law; although instead of talking about Nazis, you'll be offered a petition to sign.

Nah, seems to just be this board.

That still doesn't justify Namco doing this. While Capcom gets ridiculed for something other companies do. Gamefaqs astonishes me everyday.

I think it has more to do with capcom being seen as (or actually having stated they're) doing it specifically to cut down on used game selling. That and the temporary scare that it was locking down a lot more content, and the continued concern that they'll do something like this with games that have a lot more than just high scores tied to that un-deletable save.
