C/D - Most games just have more appeal when they're portable.

I mean, they didn't have to update the graphics of OoT for me, I still would've bought it. Just because it's portable. I dont even know if that makes sense.

Maybe it's just with ports or remakes. Seeing as if, say, a new assassins creed game (just an example) was released for the 360/ps3 and they did a half-arsed job of a 3DS /DS one, I wouldn't touch the portable one. Mainly because it'd probable be really tacky.

It's like when FF7, 8 and 9 were released on PSN, they were instant purchases for me, even though I'd played them to death when I was a kid, JUST because they were now portable.

I dunno, maybe i'm just silly in the head.

I did the same thing with FFVII and VIII. I enjoy portable gaming more nowadays. The gameplay tends to be more pick-up and play, which suits me more now since I don't have the time to sit in front of a console for hours like I did in school/college. Graphics have come on so much in the past 15 years that I'm less impressed by them than I was when the PSX launched.

Portability is awesome. I hate watching people play games in a "hangout" situation. Unless everyone is involved, which is more and more rare in these days of online gaming. I find it rude to do this, and portable devices allow you to game or whatever and not bother anyone. Yeah, it's rude to go to your buddies place and just play gameboy, but it's better than 1 person playing some fps on the big screen. Portable gaming feels more personal, and I like that. Besides, you are not held back by location( maybe not in direct sunlight..) or unable to play because your kids (or parents or whatever) are watching a movie.

The idea of a portable Super Smash Bros. is awesome. Funny thing is, I hardly ever play my 3DS outside of my house.

Yeah, I agree. It's nice to be able to play games wherever I want, or even just lie down in bed and play without people bothering me, say. XD (I don't have my own TV)

Portability just makes things much easier IMO.

yeah i completely agree, having zelda with me where ever i go is pretty cool. And for some reason I get bored of console games no matter how popular the game is.

The older I get the more I enjoy handheld gaming. This generation I bought a PS3 and 3 Wii's and they mostly get used for Netflix and Blu-Rays. I have bought over 50 games for each and I just don't play them. I find I get bored with console games much quicker than handhelds.
