The 3DS is an awful purchase at this point in time for the vast majority of gamers - if you don't have a PS3/Xbox/Wii, and if you're easily amused by inferior versions of games (with few exceptions) then by all means, purchase the 3DS. I recommend waiting, I should have, and I got mine for less than $200 too.

lambchips, RPG_THEORIST is likely being quite serious. It's their opinion, I prefer not to have to wait for a library to develop as it will in time and the backward compatibility with the DS covers that quite well.

So you prefer spending 250 what is basically for you a DS with worse battery life?

Genius

Ben Reilly, not in the least. I paid a fair amount for a system with a few games I enjoy, knowing there are many coming in the future I will enjoy and that has DS games to help close the timegap between those releases.

what makes me think hes trolling is that he just compared a handheld to a home console...

thats like trying to compare the ps3/360/wii to the almighty pc (when it comes to application support that isnt games)

i mean sure the ps3/360/wii can do alot of stuff, but its not meant to be a replacement for a pc (like the 3ds isnt supposed to be a replacement for console style games, afaik there are no console ports on this system yet afaik)

lampchips, it's possible that he's just here to troll. I would like to assume otherwise, since I've met many friends who compare PC's and home consoles to portables when considering gaming. The most bothersome friends are those who compare cellphones to home consoles.
