...it comes with a charging cradle but you can charge with the AC adapter?

What is the point of the cradle then? when I can just use the cord itself?

Its convenient to keep on a desk or something....why is offering convenience a bad/weird thing?

the cradle is at an angle and you're less likley to yank cords when you take it of the cradle instead of forgeting to unplug it

Whats better? Something you have but don't think you need? Or something you don't have that you don't know if you'll ever need?

It's like a pitch fork. It's a tool for a specific use that many people never need. But it's damn convenient when spontaneity kicks in and you find a good use for it!

I use the cradle for it all the time myself, I just find it looks cool that way. And I don't have to worry about plugging or unplugging the cord.
