A nintendo superfans reaction:

I love Nintendo, It was my first video game system ever growing up, and it's been my favorite every gen since. I still love my Nintendo Wii (I enjoyed Other M, Epic mickey and various other games on the Wii)

I got my 3DS a little over a month ago, and have enjoyed it a great deal (I haven't touched my ps3 since I got my 3DS)

So my reaction to this news is mixed. On the one hand the price cut is pretty fricking epic, and I get tons of free games to boot. In this way I see only great things about this announcement.

On the other hand it tells me some other things: Nintendo is nervous.... and it feels like they're saying they were wrong when I don't believe they were.

In short this announcement makes me a little uncomfortable yet optimistic for the future.

Nintendo is showing that it's been listening to everyone (even the haters who have been demanding this) and it makes me think that Nintendo may be going back to the lab with the Wii U..

Kick some butt Nintendo!^^

Nintendo will be fine. They're smartening up. They realize now that smartphones, tablets etc are taking a huge chunk of the handheld gaming market. They need to stay competitive and not just against Vita. The game has changed drastically in the handhel/portable gaming world and they're making a smart move. The 3DS is going to kill this holiday season. More systems sold.. more developers wanting to put games on the system. This is going to be great for Nintendo.

They figured they milked the first adapters enough, so now it was time to get serious.

^Yep, couldn't have said better (to mr. Kitt Thrust's alt). As an old fan, it does leave a bad taste in my mouth, but in the end, the 3DS is going to kill. No doubt about that. Contrary to what some may think, right now, the Vita fanboys shouldn't be celebrating right now. They should be worried. Very very worried.

Don't be nervous. This isn't Nintendo's first rodeo, they know how to handle this. If anything, they know sales will rocket during holiday season at this price and they will recover. This new price makes me want to treat my 3DS like crap, well knowing I can get a new one now!

I'm cancelling my Vita preorder and buying a 3DS. There are no games for Vita coming out that I want, and 3DS has zelda, mercenaries, revelations, kingdom heart, star fox, kid icarus, smash bros, etc.

Troll confirmed

yup I was trolling the sony forums lol, it was a response to a sony troll on the nintendo forums. I honestly haven't touched the ps3 since I had my 3ds and have no intentions as of now to get a vita

They've not smartened up that much; they still have an archaic online system without many of the standard features that other devices have. If I were them, I'd get to implementing them, seeing as online is one of Vita's selling points, as well as a selling point for iOS devices and smartphones.

I'm hoping that'll be their next thing to focus on though.

Seems like corrupted can't handle the fact that people are preferring the 3DS over his precious Vita.
His reactions: Hilarity at its finest.
