I'm going to try and see if I EB games follows the price protection policy.

I'm going to demand they refund me 80 bucks (but keep my registered system)
that way I keep both the 3DS AND the free games.

Good luck, nobody really cares. I really have been wanting to just tell all you bastards who are saying "Oh hey, I'm so smart that I'll try to rip off Nintendo" to shut the hell up.
It probably won't work anyway, since you would have to return the system. I just don't understand what store would just give you money back after you've bought the console. If anything, they would take it away and give you a new one.

You can return it can't you? Don't they allow for return of opened new systems?

How is this RIPPING anyone off? A business has policies, we don't create them. If he is within the return policy he can, by all means, try to get his difference back.

And why would a store take back a perfectly good 3DS and give you a new one? That would be asinine because they are removing stock and losing sales for themselves.

Any retailer will either give you money back or hell, store credit wouldn't be all that bad either.

The deal is 20 free games by buying the 3DS for $250, or no free games and buying the 3DS at $170. TC is trying to get the best of both.

When you find a loophole and try to get more than you deserve from someone, that's typically referred to as "ripping them off."

Blame Nintendo for releasing all this info 2 weeks prior. It isn't the consumers fault that they are abiding by the rules and policies set forth by the retailer.

I see no reason NOT to do this. I don't see how it is a problem. This is coming from someone who bought one in June so I won't benefit from this either.
