I can't believe Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS so drastically so soon. I had to do a double take just to see if it really happened. I was going to get the 3DS when the OoT remake came out, but being a college student I had other priorities with textbooks and all. Even though I won't get the 3DS on August 12th when it comes out, I am very glad that they dropped the price to make it so much more affordable.

Any word on whether you need to get the 3DS on or near the August 12th date to get those free 20 games?

You need to access the eShop on the 3DS BEFORE August 12.

If I were stuck on an island with Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Modern Warfare 2, I would play Super Mario Galaxy 2 first. People who agree: 222

You aren't going to get the cheaper price and free games. The free games are for people that bought the system when it was overpriced.

Gotcha, that makes sense. The 20 free games are a good deal for those that purchased when it originally came out.
